Answer:

The Ti plasmid is used as a vector for the transfer of genes in the plants. They are known to cause the crown gall disease in the plants. They have important economic value.

The transformation of the plant require the removal of tumor inducing gene for the formation of the disarmed pathogen. The gene of interest is kept in between the right and left border of the transfer DNA. This DNA is then introduced in the Agrobacterium. Then, it is cultivated with the target cells like callus so that the DNA can intgrate in the cells. The transformed cells are grown in a particular plants.

Answer:

Agrobacterium tumefaciens is a bacteria that cause crown gall disease in plants. This bacterium enters in plant cell through the wound and releases Ti plasmid in bacteria cytoplasm. The T DNA present in the plasmid integrates into the plant genome and cause crown gall disease in plant.

Therefore this quality of Ti plasmid is used in genetic engineering to manipulate plant gene. A desired gene can be introduced in the place of T DNA of Ti plasmid and then this agrobacterium is used to infect a plant.

This will allow the bacterial Ti plasmid to integrate the desired DNA fragment in the host plant cells. So by this method plant genes can be manipulated.

Similarities and differences between intramembranous and endochondral ossification
LiRa [457]
Similarities and differences between intramembranous and endochondral ossification
Ossification is the process of bone formation. Intramembranous and endochondral ossification are the two main processes of bone formation that occur during fetal development.
Similarities between intramembranous and endochondral ossification; they turn cartilage into bones during bone formation and they both involve bone cells such as calcium, vascular supply and osteoblasts.
Differences between intramembranous and endochondral ossification; In intramembranous ossification, an intermediate cartilage is not involved, rather the bone tissue is directly laid on a primitive connective tissue called mesenchyma while in endochondral ossification, cartilage is used as a precursor for bone formation. Also, in cases of fractures, the healing process by plaster of Paris occurs through endochondral ossification while fractures which are treated by open reduction and internal fixation are healed by intramembranous ossification.

Both euglena and Cyanobacteria are photosynthetic unicellular organisms found in pond water. The feature that distinguishes eugl
Fed [463]

The correct answer is option C, that is, the presence of the nuclear membrane.

Cyanobacteria is a phylum of bacteria that attain their energy via the process of photosynthesis, and are the only photosynthetic prokaryotes possessing the tendency to generate oxygen. As a prokaryote, they are devoid of the nuclear membrane.

Euglena refers to a single cell flagellate eukaryote. It comes under the class Euglenoidea. The species of Euglena are witnessed in salt water and in freshwater. Being a eukaryote, they possess nuclear membrane.
