Use the quadratic equation to solve this (bellow will be the image of the quadratic function)

Remember that quadratic functions are set up like so:

ax^{2} +bx +c = 0

That means that in this equation...

a = 4

b = 7

c = -15

^^^Plug these numbers into the quadratic equation and solve...

\frac{-7+/-\sqrt{(7)^{2}-4(4)(-15)}}{2(4)}

\frac{-7 +/-\sqrt{49+240}}{8}

\frac{-7+/-\sqrt{289}}{8}

\frac{-7+/-17}{8}

Keep in mind that +/- is ±

\frac{-7+17}{8} ---> \frac{5}{4}

\frac{-7-17}{8} ---> -3

Take the opposite of those numbers^^^ like so

(x + 3)(4x - 5)

Hope this helped!

. Why do we use a symbol for pi?
d1i1m1o1n [39]

Answer:

We use a symbol because pi itself is not just a number. It goes on forever and in order to represent this number we use the symbol of pi (π). Or we round it to 3.14.

If y = 5x − 4, which of the following sets represents possible inputs and outputs of the function, represented as ordered pairs?
Mama L [17]

Answer:

x can be any value, x will be the input, y will be the output.

Step-by-step explanation:

If x = 3, If x = 6, If x = 9,

y = 5x - 4

y = 5 (3, 6, or 9) - 4

y = 11, y = 26, y = 41.

These are all possible sets of ordered pairs, but ANY Real number can be represented as X, and it will need to be in an order. These numbers are all positive, so in this case, you just have to draw out Quadrant 1 in a Coor. Plane.

<u>X (Input)  I  Y (Output)</u>

3              I  11

6              I  26

9              I  41

See, when x increases by 3, Y increases by 15. If you go on, it will be the same path, same pattern.

Hope This Helps! :)
