The distributive property: a(b + c) = ab + ac

Factors of 18: 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18

Factors of 24: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24

GCF(18, 24) = 6

18 = 6 · 3

24 = 6 · 4

18 + 24 = 6 · 3 + 6 · 4 = 6(3 + 4)
