We need to convert the decimal 0.5 to a fraction in the simplest form.

0.1 is one tenth
0.01 is one hundredths

So 0.05 is 5 hundredths
One hundredths is one out of a hundred or
\frac{1}{100}
So 5 of one hundredths is
\frac{1}{100}  \times 5 =  \frac{5}{100}
The fraction isn't simplified however
So we need to find the greatest common factor (GCF) of the numerator and denominator, 5 and 100, to simplify the fraction.
The GCF of 5 and 100 is 5.

So divide both the numerator and denominator by 5 to find the fraction in simplest form
\frac{5 \div 5}{100 \div 5}  =  \frac{1}{20}
This is 0.05 as a fraction in simplest form.

Solve the following system of equations graphically on the set of axes below. y=3x−3 , x+y=5
topjm [15]

Answer:

x=2, y=3

Step-by-step explanation:

First, graph both equations on a rectangular coordinate system (see attached screenshot). Then, simply figure out where these two lines intersect. Since they intersect at (2,3), x=2 and y=3.

Plugging these values in the equations for x and y, you can see if these are the correct answers:

(3)=3(2)-3, (2)+(3)=5

Since both of these are true, you have the right answer.

Hope this helps!

When a colcano erupts the height of the peak id reduced and the upper portion is removed the height of a volcano after it erupte
WARRIOR [948]

Answer:

9670 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

The height given (8219.5 ft) is 85% OF ORIGINAL, hence original is much higher. But how do we figure this out?

<em>we translate word problem to equation.</em>

<em />

<em>8219.5 IS 85% of TOTAL</em>

<em />

Firstly, 85% = 85/100 = 0.85

Remember, is means =

of means multiplication

So we have:

<em>8219.5 = 0.85 * Total</em>

<em>Hence, total = [let total be 7]</em>

<em>8219.5 = 0.85 * t</em>

<em>t = 8219.5/0.85 = </em><em>9670 feet</em>
