Answer:

Cancer can spread from the lung to the liver through a process called metastasis.

Explanation:

When cancer spreads beyond the place where it started (primary site) to other parts of the body it is called metastasis. Metastasis can occur when cancer cells travel through the bloodstream or lymphatic vessels to other areas of the body. Many of the cancer cells that detach from the primary tumor die without causing any problems. But some come to a new area where they begin to grow and form new tumors.

Answer:

Explanation:

Stage IV (stage 4 liver cancer): The cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes and may have grown into nearby blood vessels or organs. Advanced liver cancer does not often metastasize (or travel to distant organs), but when it does, it is most likely to spread to the lungs and bones.

All of the following contribute to the movement of venous blood EXCEPT A. ventricular systole B. pressure changes in the thorax
AlladinOne [14]

Answer:  B. pressure changes in the thorax

Explanation:

The veins are the blood vessels which returns the deoxygenated blood from all the tissues and cells of the body back to the heart. The ventricular systole, venous valves, activity of the skeletal muscles and neural control over venoconstriction all influence the movement of the blood in the venous.

The pressure changes in the thorax occurs due to inspiration and expiration. During the process of inspiration, the diaphragm below the lungs contracts and moves downward while the muscles of the ribs pulls downward. When the size of the thoracic cavity increase the air pressure inside the cavity decreases and vice-versa. The pressure inside the thoracic cavity is not related with the movement of the venous blood as it regulates the exchange of the gases not the blood.
