The perimeter of a rectangle is 22 inches. Find the dimensions if its length is 3 inches greater than its width.
MaRussiya [10]

Answer:

Length: 7

Width: 4

Step-by-step explanation:

We can create a system of equations for this problem, where w is the width and l is the length.

The perimeter of a rectangle is twice its length added to twice its width.

2l+2w=22

The length is 3 more than the width:

l = w+3

We can now substitute in w+3 as l in the equation 2l+2w=22.

2(w+3) + 2w = 22

Distribute the first terms:

2w+6+2w=22

Combine like terms:

4w+6=22

Subtract 6 from both sides:

4w=16

Divide both sides by 4:

w = 4

Now we know that w = 4. We can now substitute this inside an equation to find l.

l = w+3\\\\l = 4+3\\\\l=7

Hope this helped!

How do I solve 7√96m^3 ?
aksik [14]
I BELIEVE THAT ALL (96m^3) IS UNDER THE SQUARE ROOT.
If so : 96 could be written as 16x 6 & m³ could be written as m²xm:

7√(96m^3) = 7√(16 x 6 x m² m) =7[4m√(6m)]

=28m√(6m)

Which number is NOT a solution to the inequality 14n − 46 ≤ 2(7 − 8n) ?
Daniel [21]

Answer:

(a)4

Step-by-step explanation:

First you would distribute the 2 within the parentheses and it becomes 14n-46 <= 14-16n. Then you would find the smallest coeficent and do the inverse operation so you would have to add 16n to 14n and get 30n. Your equation is now 30n-46<=14. Now you want to isolate the variable by doing the inverse operation of -46. You would then add 46 to positive 14 and get 60. Your eqaution now is 30n<=60. Your last step is to divide 30 on each side which leaves you with n<=2.

2 is less than or equal to 2

-2 is less than or equal to 2

-4 is less than or equal to 2

4 is NOT less than or equal to 2 it is GREATER

Hopefully, that helps.

Identify all the sets to which the number 3.1214122144 belongs
marishachu [46]
The set of numbers that 3.1214122144 belongs to is called the Irrational numbers. We know this because this number it is not an integer, since it has a fractional part and also is not a whole number. Rational numbers can be decimals but they are terminating decimals. This number is irrational because is a non ending decimal number.
