Assume that µ = 500 and s = 100. Your study shows a sample of size 22 with a mean of 530 and standard deviation of 113. a. What

is the most powerful test to use to test the hypothesis that the mean of the sample was drawn from the above Null Hypothesis Population? b. What is the value of the test statistic? c. What do you conclude using a = 0.052 tail?

Answer:   using t - test value is 1.37<2.08( At 0.05 level of significance)

        The mean of the sample was drawn from the population.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here sample size n=22

Given sample mean =530

Given population mean   =500

t=\frac{sample mean-µ}{\frac{S}{\sqrt{n-1} } }

given sample standard deviation s=100

<u>a) null hypothesis</u>:-  The mean of the sample was drawn from the population   µ =500

<u>Alternative hypothesis</u>:-

The most powerful test you can use is t - distribution.

The test statistic is

t=\frac{sample mean- µ}{\frac{S}{\sqrt{n-1} } }  here S is the standard deviation of the sampleb)  The value of the test statistic             [tex]t=\frac{sample mean- µ}{\frac{S}{\sqrt{n-1} } }  substitute given values sample size n=22sample mean =530sample standard deviation s =100mean of the population µ =500the calculated value of t =[tex]\frac{530-500}{\frac{100}{\sqrt{22} } }

                      the calculated value=1.3748

c) The degrees of freedom =n-1 = 22-1 = 21

     The table value of t are 0.05 level of significance with 21 degrees of freedom is <u>2.08</u>

       The calculated value 1.37<2.08

∴ we accept null hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance

<u>conclusion:-</u>

The mean of the sample was drawn from the  population.

Find f'(a) f(t)=2t+1/t+3
GaryK [48]
I'm going to rewrite f(t) to make it a little easier to use the power rule:
f(t)=2t+t^{-1}+3

Now just take the derivative using the power rule:
f'(t)=2-t^{-2}

Since they ask for f'(a), we need to replace the t's with a's:
f'(a)=2-a^{-2}

<u>Algebra I</u>

Slope-Intercept Form: y = mx + b

  • m - slope
  • b - y-intercept

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Define variables</u>

Slope <em>m</em> = 3

y-intercept <em>b</em> = 5

Someone help me please with this algebra problem
Ann [662]

Answer:

7 in.

Step-by-step explanation:

2L + 2W = 16

Try L = 7

2(7) + 2W = 16

14 + 2W = 16

2W = 2

W = 1

If the length is 7 in., then the width is 1 in. That is perfectly acceptable, so L = 7 in. is a good value.

Try L = 8

2(8) + 2W = 16

16 + 2W = 16

2W = 0

W = 0

A length of 8 would make a width of 0. You can't have a rectangle with 0 width, so L = 8 does not work.

When L = 9 or L = 10, the width would be negative. The width of a rectangle cannot be a negative number, so these values doe not work.

Answer: 7 in.

Can someone give me the answers for these?
Katyanochek1 [597]

Answer:

a.  He started with $50 in the the account.

b.  The account grow by $10 dollars each week

c see graph

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 50 + 10x

We can rewrite this as

y = 10x+50

This is in the form y = mx+b

where m = 10 which is the slope and b =50 which is the y intercept

The y intercept = 50 is the starting value or the value when x = 0

a.  He started with $50 in the the account.

The slope is how much it grows by as x grows.  As x increase by 1 , y will grow by the slope or 10, so  the account will grow by 10 each week.

b.  The account grow by $10 dollars each week

c see graph

The local jewelry store marks up the price of a necklace by 65% before selling them. If the store paid the distributor $85 per n
Zolol [24]
In the store, the necklace will cost $140.25. This is because we are taking the price of 85$ and adding on an extra 65% of it to the number.

85(1.65) = 140.25
