Your parents have accumulated a $120,000 nest egg. They have been planning to use this money to pay college costs to be incurred
mafiozo [28]

Answer and Explanation:

The computation is shown below:

a. For computing the number of money required at the end of four years first we need to find out the present value i.e to be shown in the attachment

Given that,

Future value = $0

Rate of interest = 7%

NPER = 4 years

PMT = $10,000

The formula is shown below:

= PV(Rate;NPER;PMT;FV;type)

So, after applying this, the present value is $33,872.11

Now the net nest egg is

= $120,000 - $33,000 - $33,872.11

= $53,127.89

Now the future value is

= Present value × (1 + interest rate)^number of years

= $53,127.89 × (1 + 0.07)^4

= $69,639.83

b. Now to find out the number of years required to stay in school we need to use the NPER formula i.e be to shown in the attachment

Given that,

Present value = $69,639.83

Future value = $0

Rate of interest = 7%

PMT = $24,060

The formula is shown below:

= NPER(Rate;PMT;-PV;FV;type)

The present value come in negative

So, after applying this, the answer would be 3.35 years

What are the consequences of traditional law of production
earnstyle [38]

The traditional economies' law of production depends only on agriculture, fishing, hunting, gathering or some combination of the above mentioned. They only use barter instead of money. Meanwhile, there are consequences of the traditional law of production because they are vulnerable to change in nature especially the weather. For this reason, traditional economies limit population growth. When the harvest or hunting is poor, people will definitely get starve. Those societies often consume the natural resources they will depend on or wage war

snow_tiger [21]

Answer:

The loss on sale is $ 4,000.

Explanation:

Loss or gain on an Asset can be determined by this formula:

Loss or gain = Disposal/Consideration price - Book Value of Asset.

Determining book value.

Book Value of Asset = Acquisition cost - Accumulated depreciation.

Acquisition cost is 50,000.

Annual depreciation expense = Depreciation base/Number of years.

(50,000 - 5,000) /5= 9,000

Accumulated depreciation is 18,000 + (9000 × 4/12) = 21,000.

Therefore book value of asset = 50,000 - 21,000.

Book Value of Asset = 29,000.

Disposal/Consideration price = 25,000

Determining loss or gain on asset disposal.

Loss or gain = Disposal/Consideration price - Book Value of Asset.

Loss or gain = 29,000 - 32,000.

Loss on sale was = 4,000.

MIT economist Jerry Housman has estimated the price elasticity of demand for Post Raisin Bran cereal to be -2.5 and the price el
Diano4ka-milaya [45]

Answer:

The demand for Post Raisin Brand cereal is: ELASTIC

the demand for all types of breakfast cereals is: INELASTIC

Explanation:

To calculate the price elasticity of demand (PED) we can use the following formula:

PED = % change in quantity / % change in price

 • If PED > 1, the demand is price elastic
 • If PED = 1, the demand is price unitary
 • If PED < 1, the demand is price inelastic

*The PED always results in a negative number, e.g. price deceases, quantity increases, but for practical reasons we convert the negative number into a positive (we use absolute values) when we are determining the elasticity.
