Answer:

Shear resistance of a inclined stirrup is given by

 Vᵇ = Asb(0.95*Fy)(cos α - sin α*cotβ) ((d-d')/sᵇ)

Explanation:

The shear resistance is checked in accordance with BS8110: Part 1, section 3.5.5. Shear resistance of a inclined stirrup is given by

 Vᵇ = Asb(0.95*Fy)(cos α - sin α*cotβ) ((d-d')/sᵇ)

where,

 Vᵇ=design shear resistance of inclined bars

Asb=cros-sectional area of the inclined bars

Fy=characteristics strength of the stirrups

α=angle between the inclined bars and the axis of the beam

β=angle between the compression strut of inclined bars and the axis of the beam

sᵇ=spacing of the inclined bars

d= effective depth   and d'=effective depth minus cover to reinforcement

The shear stress is given by

v=V/bd

 where V is the shear force due to ultimate loads. If v is shear stress

What is the charge on an object that has 1.09x10^13 excess electrons?
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer:

-1.74\cdot 10^{-6} C

Explanation:

The electron is the particle that rotates around the nucleus of the atom; it has a negative electric charge equal to :

e=-1.6\cdot 10^{-19}C

which is known as fundamental charge.

For an object containing N excess electrons, the total charge of the object is

Q=Ne

In this problem, the number of excess electrons in the object is:

N=1.09\cdot 10^{13}

Therefore, by plugging it the numbers, we can find the value of Q, the total charge of the object:

Q=(1.09\cdot 10^{13})(-1.6\cdot 10^{-19})=-1.74\cdot 10^{-6} C

What type of contraction requires the greatest amount of tension?
mars1129 [50]

Answer:

Isotonic eccentric

Explanation:

First of all, it should be noted that the term contraction has the meaning of joining or shortening. In the field of bodybuilding and workouts with loads, we can define muscle contraction as what happens whenever muscle fibers generate a tension in themselves.

This tension situation occurs in several situations, including when the muscle is shortened, elongated, moving, maintaining the same length or static.

There are different types of muscle contraction, among them we can highlight isotonic contraction, which is divided in turn into concentric and eccentric, isometric, auxotonic and isokinetic contraction.

 Isotonic contraction is the most common type of contraction that occurs in most sports or physical activities that we perform in our day to day. Normally the muscular tensions that we exert are usually accompanied by a shortening and lengthening of the muscle fibers of a muscle. In turn, the isotonic contraction is divided into two, concentric and eccentric.

Concentric concentration: is that which happens when a muscle makes a tension capable of overcoming a resistance, producing a shortening and subsequent mobilization of a part of the body overcoming said resistance. For example, when we take a spoon and take it to our mouths to eat, a concentric shortening occurs. Putting examples in the gym on the bench press the movement of raising the bar, is equivalent to the concentric phase.

Eccentric concentration: we can say that it is one in which, given a resistance, we exert a greater tension with the muscle, so that said muscle is lengthened. In the case of the bench press, the eccentric phase is when we lower the bar to the chest.

Why does matter increase in volume when it heats up?
ArbitrLikvidat [17]

Answer:All three states of matter (solid, liquid and gas) expand when heated. ... Heat causes the molecules to move faster, (heat energy is converted to kinetic energy ) which means that the volume of a gas increases more than the volume of a solid or liquid.

Explanation:well I tried lol she just copied and pasted faster than I could

A car is moving at a constant speed of 14 m/s when the driver presses down on the gas pedal and accelerates for 14 s with an acc
Vinil7 [7]

acceleration of car is 1.8 m/s^2

time = 14 s

initial speed = 14 m/s

so the final speed is calculated by

v_f = v_i + at

v_f = 14 + 14 * 1.8

v_f = 39.2 m/s

so the total distance moved in this interval of time is

d = \frac{v_f + v_i}{2}* t

d = \frac{39.2 + 14}{2}* 14

d = 372.4 m

now the average speed is given as

v = \frac{d}{t}

v = \frac{372.4}{14}

v = 26.6 m/s

so the average speed will be 26.6 m/s
