In 1992, the Unified Task Force (which was a US-led force), initiated on helping and carrying out a mission called Operation Restore Hope in Somalia until May of the year 1993. The US troops visited the Somali people because they were suffering from a humanitarian disaster with regards to the Resolution 794 together with the United Nations. The main purpose of the US being involved with Somalia was to help aid the UN peacekeeping troops throughout the war. The UNITAF responsible for aiding the peacekeeping troops were mostly from the US which articles count as 25,000 out of 37,000 personnel. The troop was completed and were joined by multiple nationalities from different countries like Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Germany, Greece, India, UAE, and many more.
