Answer:

Length = 82.5 feet

Width = 17.5 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for the Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(Length + Width)

= 2L + 2W

We are told in the question that: Darrin is hanging 200 feet of Christmas garland on the fencing that encloses his rectangular front yard

Hence, The perimeter of the rectangular front yard = 200 feet

200 = 2( L + W).........Equation 1

Also, the length is 5 feet less than 5 times the width

L = 5W - 5

Hence,

200= 2(5W - 5 + W)

200 = 2(5W + W - 5)

200 = 2(6W - 5)

200 = 12W - 10

Collect the like terms

200 + 10 = 12W

210 = 12W

W = 210/12

W = 17.5 feet

Substitute 17.5 for W in Equation 1

200 = 2( L + W).........Equation 1

200 = 2( L + 17.5)

200 = 2L + 35

200 - 35 = 2L

2L = 165

L = 165/2

L = 82.5 feet

Therefore, the Length of the rectangular fence = 82.5 feet while the Width of the rectangular fence is 17.5 feet.

A door to a playhouse is 50 inches tall. Which of the following is another measure equal to the height?
Effectus [21]

Answer:

4 ft 2 in.

Step-by-step explanation:

A door to a playhouse is 50 inches tall

we know that

1 in---------------> is 0.0833333 ft

so

50 in-------------> 50*0.0833333---------> 4.167 ft

4.167 ft----------> [4 ft+0.167 ft]

remember that

1 in---------------> is 0.0833333 ft

X in----------------> 0.167 ft

X=0.167/0.0833333----------> X=2 in

4.167 ft----------> [4 ft+0.167 ft]--------> [4 ft+2 in]

(_x2) + (_x3)=12 In four different ways
il63 [147K]
If you substitute a variable for each blank, for example x*2+x*3 you get 5x=12, which can then be solved to get that x=12/5, so 12/5 is the answer.

Soccer balls go on sale for $7.50 each. The store also sells footballs and the manager wants to earn a daily profit of $400 from
Tasya [4]
At $7.50 per soccer ball, they earn a daily profit of $232.50.
The store needs to earn a daily profit of $400 – $232.50 = $167.50 from footballs.
Solve 167.50 = –4x2 + 80x – 150 to find the price for footballs: x = $5.46 and $14.54.

Pls help what is this as a simplified fraction (thank u Jesus loves u)
GaryK [48]

Answer:

-500/11

Step-by-step explanation:

0.22 in fraction is 11/50

After replacing the decimal with a fraction, subtract it from -10.

You'll have -10÷(11/50)

You'll then change the division sign to a multiplication sign.

You'll then have that -10 × 50/11

-10×50 = -500/11.
