Let's say imput is i and that output is o.

The formula is 2 ^ i = o

2^0 = 1

2^1 = 2

2^2 = 4

2^3 = 8

2^4 = 16

2^5 = 32

Notice how the numbers match?

Hope this helped :)

A film lasts 2 hours and 35 minutes. Greg is going out at 8.15 . If he starts watching the film at 5.30 will he have time to war
Dmitry [639]

Answer:

Yes, he will have enough time to watch the entire film.

Step-by-step explanation:

5:30 to 6:30 is 1 hour of the movie completed.

6:30 to 7:30 is 2 hours completed.

7:30 plus 30 minutes brings him to 8:00.

8:00 plus the additional 5 minutes brings Greg to 8:05.

His movie ends at 8:05, so he will be able to watch the entire movie before going out.

Give a rule of the piecewise-defined function.
nataly862011 [7]

The equation of the piecewise function is f(x) = \left[\begin{array}{ccc}3&x \le -1\\-1&x > 2\end{array}\right

<h3>The piecewise function</h3>

On the graph, we have:

  • y = 3 for all x values not more than -1
  • y = -1 for all values greater than 2

Hence, the piecewise function is:

f(x) = \left[\begin{array}{ccc}3&x \le -1\\-1&x > 2\end{array}\right

<h3>The domain of the function</h3>

This is the set of input values

In (a), we have:

x ≤ -1 and x > 2

Hence, the domain is (∞, 3] u (2, ∞)

<h3>The range of the function</h3>

This is the set of output values

In (a), we have:

f(x) = 3 and f(x) -1

Hence, the range is [3] u (-1)

In the right triangle ?ABC, leg AC=6 cm and leg BC=8 cm. Point M and N belong to AB so that AM:MN:NB=1:2.5:1.5. Find area of ?MN
Licemer1 [7]

Given : In Right triangle ABC, AC=6 cm, BC=8 cm.Point M and N belong to AB so that AM:MN:NB=1:2.5:1.5.

To find : Area (ΔMNC)

Solution: In Δ ABC, right angled at C,

AC= 6 cm, BC= 8 cm

Using pythagoras theorem

AB² =AC²+ BC²

      =6²+8²

     = 36 + 64

→AB²  =100

→AB²  =10²

 →AB  =10

Also, AM:MN:NB=1:2.5:1.5

Then AM, MN, NB are k, 2.5 k, 1.5 k.

→2.5 k + k+1.5 k= 10

→ 5 k =10

Dividing both sides by 2, we get

→ k =2

MN=2.5×2=5 cm, NB=1.5×2=3 cm, AM=2 cm

As Δ ACB and ΔMNC are similar by SAS.

So when triangles are similar , their sides are proportional and ratio of their areas is equal to square of their corresponding sides.

\frac{Ar(ACB)}{Ar(MNC)}=[\frac{10}{5}]^{2}

\frac{Ar(ACB)}{Ar(MNC)}=4

But Area (ΔACB)=1/2×6×8= 24 cm²[ACB is a right angled triangle]

\frac{24}{Ar(MNC)}=4

→ Area(ΔMNC)=24÷4

→Area(ΔMNC)=6 cm²
