For the X intercept you set y = 0 and solve for x

Y = $- \frac{8}{3}$ x + 9
0= $- \frac{8}{3}$ x + 9 subtract 9 from both sides
-9 = $-\frac{8}{3} x$ divide both sides by 3
-3 = -8x divide both sides by -8
$\frac{3}{8}$ = x

X-intercept = ( $\frac{3}{8}$ , 0)
