What would happen to life on earth if the rate of photosynthesis and cellular respiration in all phototrophs were equal?

When the rates of two processes photosynthesis and respiration becomes equal. Phototrophic organisms wouldn't be able to compensate for the lack of carbon dioxide levels. Phototrophs wouldn't be able to produce their food in the form of glucose and hence wouldn't be able to respire too. That would result in lack of overall available food from phototrophs and lack of available oxygen for respiration.

Photosynthesis also uses carbon dioxide faster than respiration produces it. Oxygen surplus is is released into the air and unused glucose is stored in the plant for later. That's why plants are so important to human and animal survival. Without photosynthesis we wouldn't have oxygen for food to stay alive and we would end up like the movie The Lorax

Answer:

Obligate aerobic, non-phototrophic organisms will cease to exist due to lack of oxygen for respiration.

Explanation:

Phototrophs are organisms that have the capacity to use light to synthesize their foods in a process known as photosynthesis. During this process, phototrophs produce glucose and other carbohydrates using inorganic raw materials such as water and carbon dioxide. Oxygen is liberated in the process.

    6CO_2 + 6H_2O -----> C_6H_{12}O_6 + 6O_2

Cellular respiration is the opposite of photosynthesis. The food synthesized during photosynthesis is broken down in the presence of oxygen to release the locked energy which is necessary for proper functioning of organisms. Water and carbon dioxide is produced in the process.

   C_6H_{12}O_6 + 6O_2----->6CO_2 + 6H_2O

Usually, there is almost always a net glucose production, meaning that photosynthesis rate is always higher than the rate of cellular respiration. This leads to net oxygen production. Aerobic animals depend on this oxygen from autotrophs for their own respiration and energy production.

Hence, if the rate of photosynthesis balances the rate of cellular respiration in phototrophs, there will not be net oxygen production and respiration in obligately aerobic non-autotroph organisms will cease, leading to their non-existence.

Each of two parents has the genotype green divided by brown, which consists of the pair of alleles that determine eye color, a
Liula [17]

Answer:

A)BB-Bg-Bg-GG

B)The probability is 25%

C)The probability is 75%

Explanation:

In order to solve this you just have to create a punnet square, where the parents are shown to both have brown and green coloured eyes genes, so it would be like this:

               Mother:      Brown                                 Green

Father↓

Brown                      Brown-Brown                 Brown-Green

Green                      Brown-Green                  Green-Green

As the instructions say that if any kid had one green allele that would be the dominant, only the Brown-Brown will show the fenotype, so there´s 1/4 chance to happen, or 25%, the other probability of having green eyes is 3/4 or 75%

This is referred to as: spontaneous recovery

Spontaneous recovery is a theory of learning and memory which involves unexpected and recurrence of a conditioned response after a period of reduced response or delay. Spontaneous recovery is associated with classical conditioning and operant conditioning. Extinction will happen quickly after a spontaneous recovery, if the conditioned and unconditioned stimulus is not connected.

Eukaryotic cells are 10-100 times the size of prokaryotic cells. how do eukaryotic cells resolve the surface area to volume limi
Katarina [22]

The surface area of a cell is approximated by the surface area of a sphere, given by the expression, 4πr². The volume of the spherical cell is given by the expression, 4πr³/3. The ratio between surface area and volume turn out to be, 1:r/3, or 3:r. This indicates that the SA/volume ratio is inversely related to the radius of the cell. Greater the radius, lower the ratio. Higher ratios are present in the prokaryotic cells This enables them to exchange food and water from their environment by the simple process of osmosis and diffusion. Eukaryotes have a larger cell radius and size. Thus, eukaryotes find it harder to exchange food and water by simple diffusion, rather they have specialised organelle present in the cell that actively transport food and water into the cell. These specialised organelles help the cell avoid the problem due to small SA/volume ratio.
