im 6'0 and weight 170 i plan on lifting soon should i lose some weight before. keep in mind im not unhealthy just a little chunk

y. will lifting help me lose weight and gain muscle or is it not worth it!

When I started lifting I slimmed down but gained weight in muscle. You will probably be fine.

When you lift, since you gain muscle, you will likely gain weight from losing fat and having it replaced with muscle. This is not a bad thing though since muscle weighs more than fat. However, you seem to be at a healthy weight for your height.
