Answer:

The inverse function is (x+13)/7

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 7x-13

Exchange x and y

x = 7y -13

Solve for y

Add 13 to each side

x+13 = 7y-13+13

x+13 = 7y

Divide each side by 7

(x+13)/7 = 7y/7

(x+13)/7 = y

The inverse function is (x+13)/7

Ok but allow my humble self to use y instead of f(x).

We have,

y=7x-13

If you wanna know what the inverse is swap the values of x and y,

x=7y-13

And now solve for y,

x+13=7y\implies\boxed{y=f^{-1}(x)=\frac{x+13}{7}}.

Hope this helps.

the length of a rectangle is five times its width. if the perimeter of the rectangle is 96 ft, find its area.
romanna [79]

Answer:

lets say that the length is L and the width is W. With the given info, we can say that L=5W.

We know that the perimeter is all four sides added, so..

5W*4=20W

20W=96

W=4.8

L= 5*4.8=24

Area is equal to 24*4.8, which is 115.2

Voila! Your answer is 115.2 sq. ft!

Write the equation of the line in point-slope form that passes through (5, -1) and has a slope of 2/3
kolezko [41]

Answer:

y-(-1)=2/3(x-5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Point slope form is

y-y_1=m(x-x_1) where m is the slope, x_1 is the x coordinate of a point that the line passes through, and y_1 is the y coordinate of a point the line passes through.

Substituting, we get

y-(-1)=2/3(x-5)

Elena has 35 magazine subscriptions to sell. Each magazine subscription costs $8.50. Elena sold 17 magazine subscriptions on Fri
KengaRu [80]
Answer : The answer is $153.00 from selling magazine subscriptions on Saturday.

Explanation : We know that each magazine is equal to $8.50. At first she sold 17 of the 35 magazines. 17 x $8.50 = $144.50 from selling 17 magazines. Now we do 35-17 to get how many magazines are left. So there is 18 magazines left. We need to do the same thing we did before, 18 x $8.50 = $153.00. She got $153.00 from selling 18 magazines on Saturday.
