Hello there! Here are your answers:

1. 9.631 hundredths, 0.03

2. 96.31 tenths, 0.3

It's place is how far away it is from the decimal point. If it's the first number after the decimal point, it's in the tenths, if it's the second number it's in the hundredths, if it's the third, it's the thousandths, etc...

In the first equation, the 3 is two places after the decimal, making it hundredths.

In the second equation, the 3 is one place after the decimal, making it tenths.

Now to find the value. This is the easy part.

Just look at the number and remove the other decimal places.

So, for 9.631 if you remove the 9, 6, and 1 and replace them with zeros you get 0.030, which you can simplify to 0.03.

For 96.31, if you remove the 9, 6, and 1 and replace them with zeros you get 00.30,  which you can simplify to 0.3.

Hope this helps, and have a great day!

The first one is in the hundredths place, and the second one is in the tenths place.

Hope this helps you! Happy Thanksgiving, here's a turkey!

Answer:

y-7=3(x-9)

Step-by-step explanation:

The form of equation of line given in the problem is the point-slope form of a line. That is given by:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

We need y_1 and m (denoted by boxes)

y_1 is the y coordinate of the first set of points.

The first coordinate pair is (9,7), so y_1  would be 7

y_1=7

Now, the slope (m).

It has formula

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

So, x_1 = 9

y_1 = 7

x_2 = 4

y_2 = -8

Substituting, we get the slope to be:

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\\m=\frac{-8-7}{4-9}\\m=\frac{-15}{-5}\\m=3

Hence, the equation of the line in point-slope is:

y-7=3(x-9)
