Answer:

the answer is the one on the bottom

Step-by-step explanation:

I know you have choices so I'm hoping this is one of them.

The way you write the problem is really important for us to help you. I'm still not quite sure about where the x is in the problem. I'm thinking it is multiplied at the end. Sooooo here goes.

- sqrt (10) ^ (3/4) x

sqrt 10 is the same as 10 ^ (1/2)

- (10)^(1/2)^(3/4) x

multiply (1/2) and (3/4)

-(10)^(3/8) x

- eighth root(10^3) x

A school holds classes from 8:00 a.m -2:00 p.m. For what percent of a 24- hour day does this school hold classes?
kati45 [8]
8:00 a.m all the way until 2:00 p.m.

8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m is 4 hours.
12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m is 2 hours

8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. is 6 hours.

6 hours out of a 24 hour day.

\frac{6}{24} =\frac{x}{100}\\\\\frac{1}{4} =\frac{x}{100}\\\\\sf{Cross~multiplying}\\\\100 = 4x\\\\\sf{Divide~4~on~both~sides

\boxed{\bf{x =25}}

The school holds classes for 25% of the 24-hour day.

If 1 box cost rs 45 find the cost of 9 boxes
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

9 boxes cost Rs 405

Step-by-step explanation:

1 box costs 45.

so, how much are 2 boxes ? what do you think ?

right, twice as much : 2 × 45 = 90

how much are 3 boxes ?

now it is three times the cost of 1 box : 3 × 45 = 135

do you see the pattern ?

it is really simple.

that is also the origin why we describe a multiplication by "times". we take a single item so and so many times.

when you see something like this, you know, they are talking about multiplication.

so, here we want to know how much 9 boxes cost.

therefore,

9 × 45 = 405

is the answer.

Check my steps and for part b, the professor wants us to show are work and I don't know how to solve it by hand.
Ugo [173]
Part a is correct.

Part b can be done a couple ways.
1) Use binomial distribution. p = 0.2, n = 144
P(x>3) = 1 - P(x=0) -p(x=1) -p(x=2) -p(x=3)
where
P(x=k) = (nCk)p^k (1-p)^{n-k}

2) Assume a normal distribution with mean = 28.2, stdev = 4.8
z = \frac{4 - 28.2}{4.8} = -5.04
Look up z-value in normal table to find probability.

Hope that helps.
