Let x = be the number of dimes and y = number of quarters.

Since the total number of coins is 100, x + y = 100.

Since the total is cent value is 19.75, comprised of .10 for dimes and .25 for quarters, we have .10x + .25y = 19.75.

This is just a system of equations. Solve one of the dozen ways that work for solving systems of linear equations.

Using substitution:

x = 100 - y

Plug this into the other equation

.10 (100 - y) + .25 y = 19.75

10 - .10 y + .25 y = 19.75

10 + .15y = 19.75

.15 y = 9.75

y = 65

So there are 65 quarters. Since x + y = 100, there must be 35 dimes.Hope This Helps

D = no. of dimes
q = no. of quarters

$total equation
.10d + .25q = 19.75

No. of coins equation
d + q = 100
d = (100-q)

Replace d
with (100-q) in the $total equation
.10(100-q) + .25q = 19.75
10 - .10q + .25q = 19.75

10.15 q = 9.75
q =
q = 65 quarters

100 - 65 =

35 dimes.

Svetlanka [38]
Y = e^tanx   -   2

To find at which point it crosses x axis we state that y= 0

e^tanx   - 2 = 0
e^tanx = 2
tanx = ln 2
tanx = 0.69314
x = 0.6061

to find slope at that point first we need to find first derivative of funtion y.

y' = (e^tanx)*1/cos^2(x)

now we express x = 0.6061 in y' and we get:
y' = k = 2,9599

Use the identity (x+y)(x−y)=x2−y2 to find the difference of two numbers if the sum of the numbers is 12 and the difference of th
Natalka [10]

Answer:

The difference of two numbers using identity (x+y)(x-y)=x^2-y^2 is 4.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: The sum of the numbers is 12 and the difference of the squares of the numbers is 48.

To find the difference of two numbers using identity (x+y)(x-y)=x^2-y^2

Let the two numbers be a and b, then

Given that the sum of the numbers is 12

that is a + b = 12 .........(1)

Also, given the difference of the squares of the numbers is 48.

that is a^2-b^2=48     ..........(2)

Using given identity  (x+y)(x-y)=x^2-y^2

We have (a+b)(a-b)=a^2-b^2

Substitute the known values, we have,

12(a-b)=48

Divide both side 12 , we have,

(a-b)=4

Thus, the difference of two numbers using identity (x+y)(x-y)=x^2-y^2 is 4.

The heart beats 103680 per year, how many heart beats per minute?
kompoz [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

60 sec= 1 min

60min=1hour

24hours=1day

7days=1week

52 weeks =1 year

24x7= 168hours in a week

168hours x 52 =8736 hours in a year

8736x60=524160mins

524160mins=  1 year

the heart beats 103680 in a year

the heart will beat 524160/103680=5.05555555556 in a minute
