Answer:

A gene mutations can be defined as the permanent alteration in the sequence of the DNA that makes the gene. Gene mutation may give rise to genetic variations or from the genetic recombination.

These variations are known to alter the gene activity and the function of the protein. These variations in the protein or gene activity give rise to different traits in an organism.

Genetic variation can be caused by mutation ( which can create entirely new alleles in a population), random mating, random fertilization, and recombination between homologous chromosomes during meiosis ( which reshuffles alleles whitin an organism's offspring).

3. If you locate an animal that has segmentation and cephalization as well as deuterostome embryonic
lilavasa [31]
So, I decided to take another whack at this, specifically number 3, and at first I didn't really try to answer 'cause I have no clue what the word dueterostome means, but I do know that, for the other two criteria, A, arthropods is the only one that fits both.
also, on 6, it is b, because I remembered what an anther is and it has nothing to do with the eggs (it's the testes, pretty much)
and if I had to guess at 8, I would say it is d because all the others are characteristics of sexual reproduction. (I'm not sure of this, though, because I'm not sure where this defines the line for mitosis, both go through it, but at different points in the process, so I assume it isn't that one.)

Oh, we actually did a similar project in my biology class!

I looked at your punnet squares and they all looked right to me, so I will just explain how to find the genotype and phenotype.

Ok, so let me explain that for genotype they mean the letters, so for example if the penguin has a dominant trait, the genotype could be Ff, or recessive could be ff. By phenotype they mean the trait expressed, so if the penguin is dominant for freckles, the phenotype would be has freckles.

Now I don't know what your teacher wants you to do, but in my class we just flipped a coin to decide whether we would use the dominant or recessive trait.

Hopefully that clears it up a little bit for you :)
