mountains in it. Which of the following is most likely true about the animal life in these regions?
A.
The animal life in region B is less diverse than the animal life in region A.
B.
The animal life in region A is better adapted to surviving in aquatic conditions than the animal life in region B.
C.
The animal life in region B is more diverse than the animal life in region A.

The correct answer is option (C) The animal life in region B is more diverse than the animal life in region A.

Grasslands are the regions of vegetation dominated by grass, wild plants and herbs. Wetlands are the biologically diverse ecosystems with lands consisting of marshes and swamps.

Region A with grasslands alone, will mainly have animals which are herbivores and birds. Whereas, region B with grasslands, wetlands and mountains show a variety of animals or diversity of animals. This region has a number of herbivores and birds due to the presence of grasslands. Wetlands are of four types namely the swamp, marsh, bog and fen showing characteristic vegetation of aquatic animals, amphibians due to the presence of watery wetlands. They also show reptiles like alligators and crocodiles, birds like waterfowl, wading birds, mammals like bats, rabbits, thousands of invertebrates nd insects. Mountains are also a habitat for a large number of animals like mammals to insects. They serve as a place for the prey animals to escape from their predators.

Thus, a region with grassland, wetland and mountain will have a diversity of animals.

While the ovum is on its way to the uterus, a successful mating results in the presence of sperm cells in the fallopian tube. On
Oksanka [162]
If the sperm cell fertilises the ovum, and implantation does not occur, then the corpus luteum degenerates and it turns into corpus albicans, stopping progesterone secretion. If fertilisation occurs and implantation also, the syncytiotrophoblast, the "root part" of the blastocyst (one of the early structures originated from the zygote), produces a hormone that is called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). The hCG is what makes the corpus luteum keep secreting progesterone and maintain itself. The progesterone will then help keep the endometrium and, therefore, allow the development of the embryo to happen.

The atoms of elements sometimes become "sequestered" in the environment. which of the following is an example of this?
Marta_Voda [28]

d. carbon atoms in ocean water

Explanation:

The carbon atoms in ocean water is one of the ways through which carbon is sequestered in nature.

Sequestration of carbon implies the storage of carbon either naturally or artificially for a very long time.

Carbon sequestration cuts off carbon from the normal biogeochemical cycle and stores it in natural reservoirs for a very long duration.

 • In nature, carbon is sequestered a whole lot through biological and chemical activities.
 • Phytoplanktons are food producers. When consumed by higher organisms, their organic materials which contains carbon can become sequestered when the consumer dies and falls to the bottom of the ocean.
 • Organisms that used carbonate to manufacture their shells in the ocean also sequesters carbon.
