An example of antagonistic hormones controlling homeostasis is insulin and glucagon metabolism. The regulation of blood glucose concentration illustrates how the endocrine system maintains homeostasis by the action of antagonistic hormones. When the concentration of blood glucose rises beta cells secrete insulin into the blood; which stimulates the liver and most other body cells to absorb glucose, when the concentration of blood glucose drops, alpha cells secrete glucagon into the blood which stimulates the liver to release glucose.

What can you infer about the responsiveness of two neurons in the visual cortex that lie next to each other in v1?
Alchen [17]

The right answer is The receptive fields of these cells are also next to each other.

The visual cortex occupies the occipital lobe of the brain and is responsible for processing the visual information.

A synapse is the region of interaction between two nerve cells that allows the passage of a signal. The synapse also includes membranes. Most often, the synapse is between the synaptic button of a presynaptic neuron and the dendrite or cell body of a postsynaptic neuron. The postsynaptic neuron transmits the information in an electrical form.

The synapse allows the passage of information from one neuron to another or from a neuron to an effector cell.

Examination of the ages at which children achieve motor milestones shows that:
kicyunya [14]
I believe that the examination of the ages at which children achieve motor milestones show that there are wide variations in the ages at which infants begin to sit, walk, and crawl. Developmental milestones are the skills such as taking the first step, smiling for the first time, and waving which vary differently from one child to another. Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, act, and move. For example, between the ages of 9 to 12 months, children begin to achieve physical milestones such as standing up or even walking.
