The oldster got a discount, so the original price is higher; let's call it x;

(1 - 0.10) x = 12.60

.9 x = 12.60

x = 12.60/0.9  = 14.00

Answer: $14.00

So, I'm not quite sure what you're asking, so I'll answer it two different ways.
7.95 + (7.95 * 1.06)
7.95 + 8.247 = $16.197

The second way:
1.06n = 7.95
n = 7.95 / 1.06
n = 7.5
106 Percent of $7.50 is 7.95
