Going against the natural flow of heat and moving thermal energy from a low temperature to a high temperature is _____.

Chemistry

Answer: The correct answer is "refrigeration".

Explanation:

Refrigeration is the process of rejecting heat from low temperature reservoir and transfers it to high temperature reservoir. Here, the heat is taken from the colder body and reject it to hotter body. The sink is at the lower temperature. The source is at the higher temperature.

In heat engine, the heat is transferred from high temperature reservoir to the low temperature reservoir. It is just opposite of the refrigeration.

Therefore, going against the natural flow of heat and moving thermal energy from a low temperature to a high temperature is refrigeration.

Answer:

Refrigeration.

Explanation:

Refrigeration :

In natural process in heat engine we know that heat flows from higher temperature to lower temperature.

But when heat flows from lower temperature to higher temperature then it is the case of refrigeration.

Here in question the heat flows from lower temperature to higher temperature so it is the case of refrigeration

What is the best description of what Becquerel observed in his experiment?
myrzilka [38]

The answer is: D.unstable nuclei emitting high-energy particles as they formed more stable compositions.

Those high-energy particles are alpha particles , beta particles , gamma radiation.

For example, the decay chain of ²³⁸U is called the uranium series.

Decay start with U-238 and ends with Pb-206. There are several alpha and beta minus decays.

Antoine Henri Becquerel (1852 – 1908) was a French physicist and the first person to discover evidence of radioactivity.

Becquerel wrapped fluorescing crystal (uranium salt potassium uranyl sulfate) in a cloth, along with the photographic plate and a copper Maltese cross.

Several days later, he discovered that a image of the cross appeared on the plate.

The uranium salt was emitting radiation.

Because of this discovery, Becquerel won a Nobel Prize for Physics in 1903, which he shared with Marie Curie and Pierre Curie.

If I add 475mL of water to 75.0mL of a 0.315M NaOH solution, what will the molarity of the diluted solution be?
pantera1 [17]
Answer is: the molarity of the diluted solution 0,043 M.
V(NaOH) = 75 mL ÷ 1000 mL/L = 0,075 L.
c(NaOH) = 0,315 M = 0,315 mol/L.
n(NaOH) = c(NaOH) · V(NaOH).
n(NaOH) = 0,075 L · 0,315 mol/L.
n(NaOH) = 0,023625 mol.
V(solution) = 0,475 L + 0,75 L.
c(solution) = 0,023625 mol ÷ 0,550 L.
c(solution) = 0,043 mol/L.

Why are graphs used to understand an objects motion?
S_A_V [24]
Hello!

Graphs are used to understand an object's motion because they can show the exact location of the object at any given moment.

This is done with the help of a reference system. The most common reference system is the Cartesian coordinate system, which describes the location of an object through a set of 2 or 3 coordinates (depending if the system is in 2D or 3D).

Studying graphs of movement, we can know if the movement is cyclical, or the direction of the movement, determine tendencies and overall getting an unambiguous and precise understanding of the motion.

Have a good day!

Which coefficients will balance the following reaction:
valentina_108 [34]

Answer:

C ) 2, 1, 2

Explanation:

The given reaction is synthesis reaction in which lithium and bromine react to form lithium bromide.

Chemical equation:

Li + Br₂    →    LiBr

Balanced chemical equation:

2Li + Br₂    →    2LiBr

Step 1:

Li + Br₂    →    LiBr

left hand side Right hand side

Li = 1                                        Li = 1

Br = 2                                        Br = 1

Step 2:

Li + Br₂    →    2LiBr

left hand side Right hand side

Li = 1                                        Li = 2

Br = 2                                        Br = 2

Step 3:

2Li + Br₂    →    2LiBr

left hand side Right hand side

Li = 2                                       Li = 2

Br = 2                                        Br = 2

Why+is+it+that+nitrogen+is+often+a+limiting+plant+nutrient,+despite+the+fact+that+the+atmosphere+is+80%+nitrogen+gas+(n2)?
Nataly [62]

Why is it that nitrogen is often a limiting plant nutrient, despite the fact that the atmosphere is 80% nitrogen gas because plant can not fix nitrogen.

What is nitrogen fixation?

Nitrogen fixation is a chemical process that converts molecular nitrogen (N2) in the air, which has a strong triple covalent bond, into ammonia (NH3) or related nitrogenous chemicals.

With the exception of a few microbes, atmospheric nitrogen is molecular dinitrogen, a largely nonreactive chemical. Diazotrophy, or biological nitrogen fixation, is an important microbially driven process that transforms dinitrogen (N2) gas to ammonia (NH3) via the nitrogenase protein complex.
