Answer:

A. decrease in total operating income of $35,000

Explanation:

As provided the contribution generated today = $66,000

Now, when the firm chooses to discontinue operations then, this will be not earned.

Further the operating income earlier from this division shall be:

Contribution - Fixed cost = $66,000 - $50,000 = $16,000

Now, this shall not be earned, thus company will lose $16,000

Thus attributable fixed cost shall be $50,000 - $19,000 = $31,000

Therefore, contribution lost - Fixed cost unavoidable = $66,000 - $31,000 = $35,000 shall be the operating loss now.

Thus, with $35,000 the operating profit will decrease.

Beto Company pays $4.70 per unit to buy a part for one of the products it manufactures. With excess capacity, the company is con
Anastasy [175]

Here, we are decide the best option between making the part or buying the part.

a. Make or Buy Analysis

Particulars Make amount Buy amount

Direct Materials $4.50

Direct Labor $1.00

Overhead (80% of Direct Labor) $0.80

Cost to buy $4.70

Cost per unit $5.70 $4.70

Cost Difference = $5.70 - $4.70

Cost Difference = $1.00

Therefore, the cost difference of making amount over buying amount is $1.00.

b. Because of the difference, Beto should buy the part because its cost is lesser than to make the part.

Therefore, the buying of the part is the best decision.

sara works in the IT department for a large retail store. She has been testing a theory about why an error message keeps popping
Nataly_w [17]

Answer: Sara must take a break and come back later.

Explanation: Have you ever struggled with hard problem and found that no matter how much you tried to figure it out, the answer just won’t come to you? This is an all-too-common problem for scientists, philosophers, mathematicians, novelists, musicians, and countless intellectuals alike. But as anyone who wrestles with creative/intellectual problems on the regular will tell you, the solution to a tough problem will often come at a time when they are not focused on the problem directly. To the contrary, solutions to problems often come when they are doing completely unrelated, like taking a walk or in the shower. Working for long stretches without breaks leads to stress and exhaustion. Taking breaks refreshes the mind, replenishes your mental resources, and helps you become more creative. Problem-solving may seem straightforward at first glance, but there are many employees who stumble over one or more of the critical steps, failing to successfully resolve workplace issues. Successful problem-solving requires several important skills that will help you proceed efficiently from identification to implementation.

Black_prince [1.1K]

Answer:

the standard price per yard is $6.25

Explanation:

The computation of the standard price per yard is shown below;

Material quantity variance = Standard Price × (Actual quantity - Standard quantity)

-$5,000 = Standard price × (10,000 - 10,800)

Thereore Standard price = -$5,000 ÷ (-800)

= $6.25

Hence, the standard price per yard is $6.25

We simply applied the above formula so that the standard price per yield could come

Justin Cement Company has had the following pattern of earnings per share over the last five years: Year Earnings Per Share 20X1
ElenaW [278]

Answer:

(a) $4.08

(b) $51.03

Explanation:

Constant growth rate for earnings:

= (EPS for any year ÷ EPS for the previous year) - 1

= (8.40 ÷ 8.00) - 1

= 0.05

= 5%

(a) EPS for 2016 = EPS for 2015 × (1 + 5%)

                          = 9.72 × 1.05

                          = $10.21

Dividend for 2016 = 40% × EPS for 2016

                               = 40% × 10.206

                               = $4.08

(b) Stock Price at the beginning of 2016:

= Dividend for 2016 ÷ (Required rate of return - Constant growth rate)

= 4.0824 ÷ (0.13 - 0.05)

= $51.03
