The availability heuristic occurs when we depend on the similar examples that comes to mind in order to make our conclusion. The more situations that keep popping to our mind the more likely to judge that they are more prevalent and we tend to believe that there is high chance of them to keep happening in the future because we believe they are more frequent due to the fact that we have many examples of those situations coming up in our mind.
