I think the answer is A) stratified random sampling! Stratified random sampling is when sunsets of individuals are created based on similar criteria, which sounds the closest to the problem because stratified can split a group and does not have to be fully equal.
Non random sampling doesn’t fit because it’s clearly stated that it’s random.
Systematic random sampling is based on intervals in a group.
The next closest answer would be simple random, which is when a subset of individuals are chosen from a larger group with all having the same probability.

Varvara68 [4.7K]

Answer:

Yes, there is enough evidence to say the proportions are the same.

Step-by-step explanation:

Null hypothesis: The proportions are the same.

Alternate hypothesis: The proportions are not the same.

Data given:

p1 = 51% = 0.51

n1 = 200

p2 = 48% = 0.48

n2 = 150

pooled proportion (p) = (n1p1 + n2p2) ÷ (n1 + n2) = (200×0.51 + 150×0.48) ÷ (200 + 150) = 174 ÷ 350 = 0.497

Test statistic (z) = (p1 - p2) ÷ sqrt[p(1-p)(1/n1 + 1/n2) = (0.51 - 0.48) ÷ sqrt[0.497(1-0.497)(1/200 + 1/150)] = 0.03 ÷ 0.054 = 0.556

The test is a two-tailed test. At 0.10 significance level the critical values -1.645 and 1.645

Conclusion:

Fail to reject the null hypothesis because the test statistic 0.556 falls within the region bounded by the critical values.

See question in image and show workings

Note : 1 nautical mile = 1.86km
ycow [4]

Answer:

a)

AB is on the latitude 30°N.

Find AB:

  • AB = 2*3.142*6400*cos 30°*(32+35)/360 = 6482.15 km

BC is along longitude 35°W

Find BC:

  • BC = 2*3.142*6400*(30 + 20)/360 = 5585.77 km

Total distance traveled:

  • 6482.15 + 5585.77 = 12067.92 km

Convert the distance to nautical miles:

12067.92/1.86 = 6488.13 nautical miles

b)

Find the average speed:

  • 6488.13/22 = 294.92 nautical miles / hour

Note. This is unrealistically high speed for a ship, this must be a plane or the time given wrong.

Set up and solve the following using dimensional analysis.
Softa [21]
1).  Multiply (5400 inches) by (1 foot / 12 inch) then by (1 mile / 5280 foot).

      (See explanation at the bottom)

         =      (5400 inch) x (1 foot / 12 inch) x (1 mile / 5280 foot)

         =      (5400 x 1 x 1 / 12 x 5280)  (inch - foot - mile / inch - foot)

         =          0.0852  mile

2).  Multiply (16 week) by (7 day/week) then by (24 hour/day)
       then by (60 minute/hour) then by (60 sec/minute).

3).  Multiply (54 yards) by (3 foot/yard) then by (1 meter/3.28 foot)
       and then by (1000 mm/meter)

4).  Multiply (36 cm/second) by (3600 second/hour) then by (1 meter/100 cm)
      then by (1 mile/1609.3 meter).

5). Look up how many grams in a pound ('P')
       Look up how many mL in a gallon ('G')

      Multiply (1.09 g/mL) by ( 1 pound/ P gram) then by (1 gallon/ G mL)

6).  Multiply (32 foot/sec) by (1 meter / 3.28 foot) then by (60 sec/minute).

Each time I told you to multiply by something, it was always a fraction
where the numerator and denominator are equal, like (60 seconds/minute)
or (1 foot / 12 inch). Since the top and bottom of the fraction are equal, the
value of the fraction is ' 1 ' , and multiplying by it doesn't change the value,
it only changes the units ... that's what this whole exercise is about.
When you multiply, KEEP the units in the product, and then, after you multiply, you can 'cancel' units out of the top and bottom of the product.
Like if you have 'feet' on top and bottom, just cross them out. When you're done, if you did it correctly, the last unit you end up with will be the one you want.
