Hi!

Minus is stronger than plus, so:

g(x) + (-g(x)) = g(x) - g(x) = 0

Hope this helps!

In looking at it I would guess it is asking which of the points is on the line? To answer that you would have to take each point an plug it into the equation and see if it is true.

3x - 7 = y

A(9,20)
3(9) - 7 = 20
27 - 7 = 20
20 = 20 True - this point is on the line

B(5,0)
3(5) - 7 = 0
15 - 7 = 0
8 = 0 False - this point is not on the line

C(3,2)
3(3) - 7 = 2
9 - 7 = 2
2 = 2  True - this point is on the line

I hope this helps

Line E passes through the points (2, 3) and (4, -3). What is the slope of a line perpendicular to line E?
lilavasa [31]
\bf \begin{array}{ccccccccc}
&&x_1&&y_1&&x_2&&y_2\\
%  (a,b)
&&(~ 2 &,& 3~)
%  (c,d)
&&(~ 4 &,& -3~)
\end{array}
\\\\\\
% slope  = m
slope =  m\implies
\cfrac{\stackrel{rise}{ y_2- y_1}}{\stackrel{run}{ x_2- x_1}}\implies \cfrac{-3-3}{4-2}\implies \cfrac{-6}{2}\implies \cfrac{-3}{1}

now, a line perpendicular to that one, will have a "negative reciprocal" slope, thus

\bf \textit{perpendicular, negative-reciprocal slope for}\quad \cfrac{-3}{1}\\\\
negative\implies  +\cfrac{3}{ 1}\qquad reciprocal\implies +\cfrac{ 1}{3}\implies \cfrac{1}{3}

If < A and < B are vertical angles, and < A = 2x - 11 degrees, and < B = x + 7 degrees, find x.
Tema [17]

Answer:

x=18

Step-by-step explanation:

Vertical angles are congruent. This means that they are equal to each other. So, to solve set them equal to each other and isolate x. First, set up the equation. Then, subtract x from both sides. Finally, add 11 to both sides and simplify.

1) 2x-11=x+7

2) x-11=7

3)x=18

Answer:

11. 68.6 mph

12. 5/6 page (0.83)

Step-by-step explanation:

You simply divide them (remember the word "per" means divide).

\dfrac{120}{1 \frac34} \approx 68.6

\dfrac{8 \frac13}{10} = \frac56
