The answer is c. $10. Because in the second equation, 30 represents the fee that Nancy pays. Nancy pays $30 and Jessica pays $40. Therefore, Jessica pays $10 more than Nancy.

Michael drove from home to work at an average speed of 50 mph. His return trip home took 30 minutes longer because he could only
Sladkaya [172]

Answer:

100 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

To work :

speed = 50mph

Let time taken = x

From work :

speed = 40mph

30 minutes = 30/60 = 0.5

Time taken = x + 0.5

Distance from home to work :

Distance = speed * time

To work distance = from work distance

This can be algebraically expressed as :

50 * x = 40(x + 0.5)

50x = 40x + 20

50x - 40x = 20

10x = 20

x = 20/10

x = 2

Hence,

Distance = 50 * 2 = 100

The the distance from home to work = 100 miles

Which is the equation of the graph
oksano4ka [1.4K]
I'm guessing the last value you have down there that got cut off was the one we want.  We need to set up the general form of the absolute value equation and then solve it for a:  y=a[x-h]+k.  I have no absolute value symbols so I just used brackets.  We have a vertex (h, k) of (0, 0) and I picked a point on the graph to use as my x and y coordinates (4, 3).  Let's fill in the equation now:  0=a[0-4]+3.  We will subtract 3 from both sides leaving -3 = a[-4].  The absolute value of -4 is 4 so now we have -3 = 4a.  Divide by 4 to solve for a.  a=- \frac{3}{4}.  So our equation is y=- \frac{3}{4}[x]

A f and g share the same root(s)
pantera1 [17]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  C  f and g share no roots

Step-by-step explanation:

The roots of a polynomial function are the values of x that make factors of the function be zero.

f(x) = x(x +4). The roots of f are -4 and 0.

g(x) = (1/2)(x+3)(x-4). The roots of g are -3 and 4.

f and g share no roots in common.
