Answer: The sally's conclusion is true and the both image have different coordinates.

Explanation:

It is given that johny reflects ∆ABC across the y axis and then again across the x axis.

Let the coordinate of A is (x,y) and it reflects along y-axis then,

(x,y)\rightarrow(-x,y)

After that the it reflects along x-axis then,

(-x,y)\rightarrow(-x,-y)

So, if the coordinate of A is (x,y) and Johnny reflects ∆ABC across the y axis and then again across the x axis, then A'(-x,-y).

It is given that Hallie rotates ∆ABC 180 degrees clockwise about the origin.

Let the coordinate of A is (x,y) and it rotates 180 degrees clockwise about the origin then,

(x,y)\rightarrow(-x,-y)

So, if the coordinate of A is (x,y) and Hallie rotates ∆ABC 180 degrees clockwise about the origin, then A'(-x,-y).

It is also represent in the figure with the help of a random triangle.

In both process we get the same images. Therefore, the sally's conclusion is true.

Points m is the midpoint of FG. Can you determine the value of a?
GenaCL600 [577]

Using the midpoint concept, it is found that the value of a is of a = 2.

What are the coordinates of the points?

Researching this problem on a search engine, the coordinates are given as follows:

 • F(b + 1, a + 2).
 • M(3,5).
 • (2a, 3b+3).

What is the midpoint concept?

The midpoint between two points is the halfway point between them, and is found using the mean of the coordinates.

Hence the following system of equations can be built:

(b + 1 + 2a)/2 = 3.

b + 1 + 2a = 6.

b = 5 - 2a.

(a + 2 + 3b + 3)/2 = 5

a + 3b + 5 = 10

a + 3b = 5.

Since b = 5 - 2a, we have that:

a + 15 - 6a = 5.

5a = 10

a = 10/5

a = 2.

The value of a is of a = 2.

Help please explain how?
Pani-rosa [81]
Starting from the half circle, the radius is 2, (from the other side of the figure) and using that, 2 x 2 = 4 x 3.14 (or pi) = 12.56. But, it's a half circle. So, 12.56 / 2 = 6.28.
One in the bag!
Going left, we have a rectangle. b x h = a. 6 x 8 = 48.
Done. (by the way, that's the enclosed space)
Finally, the triangle. The triangle's area is found by 1/2 x b x h. 1/2 x 2 x 6 = 6.

The full area of the figure is 60.28.

Hope this helped.
