The given statement " If a ray divides an angle into two complementary angles, then the original angle is not a right angle" is false.

As, Complementary angles are those in which sum of two angles add up to 90 degrees.

Now, let us consider two angles made by the ray is 'x' and 'y'. According to the question, the ray divides an angle into two complementary angles which means  x+y = 90^\circ

In this case since the two angles formed after being divided by ray are complementary it means they add up to 90 degrees. And hence, the original angle should be a right angle.

Therefore, it is false to say that the original angle is not a right angle.

Determine the standard form of the equation of the line that passes through (6, – 9) and (-8, 6).
muminat

Answer:

15x + 14y = -18

Step-by-step explanation:

slope = (6 - -9)/(-8 - 6) = 15/-14

y = mx + b

6 = -15/14(-8) + b

6 = 60/7 + b

b = -18/7

y = -15/14x - 18/7

15/14x + y = -18/7, multiply everything by 14

15x + 14y = -18

A travelling salesman sells milkshake mixing machines and on average sells 8.9 machines per month. He needs to sell at least 3 m
Goshia [24]

Answer:

0.67% probability he will have to shut down after this month

Step-by-step explanation:

In a Poisson distribution, the probability that X represents the number of successes of a random variable is given by the following formula:

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

In which

x is the number of sucesses

e = 2.71828 is the Euler number

\mu is the mean in the given time interval.

On average sells 8.9 machines per month.

So \mu = 8.9

Using the Poisson distribution, what is the probability he will have to shut down after this month

If he sells less than 3 machines.

P(X < 3) = P(X = 0) + P(X = 1) + P(X = 2)

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

P(X = 0) = \frac{e^{-8.9}*8.9^{0}}{(0)!} = 0.0001

P(X = 1) = \frac{e^{-8.9}*8.9^{1}}{(1)!} = 0.0012

P(X = 2) = \frac{e^{-8.9}*8.9^{2}}{(2)!} = 0.0054

P(X < 3) = P(X = 0) + P(X = 1) + P(X = 2) = 0.0001 + 0.0012 + 0.0054 = 0.0067

0.67% probability he will have to shut down after this month

If you apply the changes below to the absolute value parent function, f(x) = |x|, what is the equation of the new function?Shift
Jlenok [28]
Hi! Sorry if this is wrong, but I believe it would be f(x)= |x+5|-4. This is because it shifts to the left, so it is adding 5 to the x in the absolute value bars. And it shifting 4 units down would be negative. Hope this helps!
