First, add up all the prices.

3.50 + 1.25 + .76 = 5.51

I tested a few numbers and I discovered that Mike bought 37 pencils. 

5.51 * 37 = 203.87

What you can do is trial and error. I started going multiplying each price by 10s and when I started multiplying by 30s I got a total of 37 colored pencils
