Interpreting Points on Graphs of Proportional Relationships
HACTEHA [7]

There are the following conclusions:

Not true

 1. The pumpkin grew to a weight of 3 ounces in 18 weeks.
 2. The quotient 3 / 18 equals the growth rate of the pumpkin in ounces per week.

Cannot be determined

 1. Each crate can hold 18 pumpkins.

True

 1. In 3 weeks, the pumpkin grew to a weight of 18 ounces.
 2. The pumpkin grew at a rate of 6 ounces per one week.

How to interpret graphs of proportional relationships

The graph shows the graph of proportional relationship, in which the weight of a pumpkin, in ounces, is directly proportional to time, in weeks. Then:

y ∝ x

y = k · x

Where k is the constant of proportionality, in ounces per week.

The point (x, y) = (3, 18) indicates that a pumpkin reaches a weight of 18 ounces after 3 weeks and the constant of proportionality is equal 6 ounces per week.

Then, we have the following conclusions:

Not true

What multiplies to 5 but adds to negative 4?
Fudgin [204]
So find factors of 5
1 and 5
both factors must be both negative or both positive to be positive 5
adds to negative 4
to do that, they both must be negative
-5 times -1=5
-5+-1=-6
doesn't work

the only way it would work is if it is what multipies to -5 and adds to -4 which then the numbers would be -5 and 1

6 in.
asambeis [7]

Answer:

152 square inches

Step-by-step Explanation:

To answer this, please look at the picture below. We can find the area by separating and combine the value of areas after calculating three values for each areas. (Notice that when we separate them, we get three rectangles which we can use the formula of width × length)

We should get 80+48+24 which add up to 152.

In case if you are confused which parts you don't understand in these photos, you can ask in the comment.
