Explanation:

The electrician just cannot replace any piece of wire to fuse because the ceramic that is used in case of fuse has a wire attached in it.

This wire is of  low resistance so that when there is higher voltage the wire just cannot tolerate the high voltage and wire breaks down.

Any wire just cannot be replace by the fuse because the there are some calculations which has to be made.

The wire if used should be of low resistance and more properties then only it is eligible to be replaced by fuse.
