In an effort to make childrenâs toys safer and more tamperproof, toy packaging has become cumbersome for parents to remove in ma

ny cases. Accordingly, the director of marketing at Toys4Tots, a large toy manufacturer, wants to evaluate the effectiveness of a new packaging design that engineers claim will reduce customer complaints by more than 10 percentage points. Customer satisfaction surveys were sent to 220 parents who registered toys packaged under the old design and 220 parents who registered toys packaged under the new design. Of these, 81 parents expressed dissatisfaction with packaging of the old design, and 41 parents expressed dissatisfaction with packaging of the new design.
Let p1 represent the population proportion of parents that expressed dissatisfaction with the packaging of the old design and p2 represent the population proportion of parents that expressed dissatisfaction with the packaging of the new design.

Required:
a. Specify the null and alternative hypotheses to test for whether the proportion of customer complaints has decreased by more than 5% under the new packaging design.
b. What is the value of the test statistic and the associated p-value?
c. At the 1% significance level, do the results support the engineers' claim?
d. At the 10% significance level, do the results support the engineers' claim?

Answer:

Kindly check explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the following :

Old design samples(n1) = 220

New design samples (n2) = 220

P1 = 81/220 = 0.368 ; P2 = 41/220 = 0.186

Null hypothesis : p1 - p2 ≥ 0.05

Alternative hypothesis : p1 - p2 < 0.05

Using the test statistic formula :

t = (P1 - P2) / √[P(1-P)(1/n1 + 1/n2)]

P = (81 + 41)/(220 + 220) = 122/440 = 0.277

1 - P = 0.723

t = (0.368 - 0.186) / (√(0.277(0.723)(1/220 + 1/220)))

t = 4.265

P value from z test at α = 0.05

P value = 0.00002

Test for significance at α = 0.01 ;

Test for significance at α = 0.1

Result is significant at both α levels, hence reject the Null.

Directions: Read the scenario below and calculate what Marcus' pay is after deductions are
hram777 [196]

Answer:

$346.65

Step-by-step explanation:

If Marcus worked a total of 40 hours, and he earns 10$ an hour, his payment before deductions is 400$, as put in the "gross pay".

We need to sum all the deductions:

9.75 + 3.10 + 30 + 10.5 = 53.35

Now, to know Marcus net pay, we just need to subtract his gross pay from this total deduction:

400 - 53.35 = 346.65

So, his net payment is $346.65

y+8 = \frac{1}{2}(x-7) is equivalent to y-(-8) = \frac{1}{2}(x-7)

That is in the form y-y_{1} = m(x-x_{1}) which is point slope form

In this case,

m = 1/2 is the slope
(x1,y1) = (7,-8) is the point the line goes through

It would be B - 30° celcus. Because when you convert 86° into celcus it becomes 30°. I hoped this helped!

How do you do

f(x)=12x+3 2units left
g(x)=

please help I'm confused
Mkey [24]

Answer:

g(x) = 12x + 27

Step-by-step explanation:

Take a point in the f(x).

f(0) = 12(0) + 3

f(0) = 3

A point on f(x) is (0,3).

Move the point 2 units left. It will make the x-coordinate decrease by 2.

0 - 2 = -2

A point on g(x) is (-2,3).

Substitute the point and the same slope into the equation of a line. The slope did not change.

y = mx + b

3 = 12(-2) + b

3 = -24 + b

b = 3 + 24

b = 27

Rewrite g(x) using b = 27 and the same slope, m = 12.

g(x) = 12x + 27
