Hello!

To find the surface area of a sphere you use the equation

A = 4 \pi r^{2}

A is surface area
r is radius

Put in the values you know and 3.14 for pi

A = 4 * 3.14 * 1.5^{2}

Square the number

A = 4 * 3.14 * 2.25

Multiply

A = 28.26

The answer is D)28.26in squared

Hope this helps!

Why is it better to use the metric system, rather than the English system, in scientific measurement?
Dahasolnce [82]

Answer:

Because the metric system is acknowledged by all countries except for the US, therefore, to put it only in a format understood by Americans would make it harder for the larger population of the scientific community to understand. If it's in the metric system, it can easily be understood for peer review and or involvement

A restaurant supplier receives a discount on each oven purchased. The original price of each oven is x dollars. The restaurant s
Sauron [17]

Answer:

Each oven is discounted by $20.

Step-by-step explanation:

Original price of oven in dollars  = x

To find total cost for 9 such ovens without discount we will apply unitary method.

If 1 oven costs in dollars = x

Then 9 ovens will cost in dollars = 9x

The ovens are purchased by a restaurant supplier at some discounted price.

The new price after discount in dollars = 9x-180

We see that the total cost of 9 ovens which was originally =9x has been decreased to =9x-180 after discount.

The decrease amount is the discount amount on 9 ovens which is = $180

To find discount offered on each oven, we will again use unitary method.

Discount on 9 ovens = $180

∴ Discount on 1 oven = \frac{\$180}{9}=\$20

∴ Each oven is discounted by $20.

Angela drew 9 rhombuses and 6 trapezoids. She wants to find q, the total number of angles in her quadrilaterals. Explain how Ang
Bingel [31]
I'm pretty sure it's
q= 4(9)+4(6)
This is true, since both are quadrilaterals, so they have 4 sides and therefore 4 angles. There are 9 rhombuses, so each has 4 angles. This would mean you'd have to multiply each quadrilateral by 4 to find your answer.
I hope this helps a little.

You and a friend are working on shooting free throws at basketball practice. Your friend has a season average of making 80% of h
vekshin1

Answer: The probability that his friend doesn't make a shot until his 5 th attempt is 0.00128.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Probability of making his shot = 80%

Probability of missing his shot = 20%

We need to find the probability that his friend doesn't make a shot until his 5th attempt.

So, our required probability would be

(0.20)^4(0.8)\\\\=0.00128

Hence, the probability that his friend doesn't make a shot until his 5 th attempt is 0.00128.
