Distance between the points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is
D=\sqrt{(x1-x2)^2+(y1-y2)^2}


distance between points ((5,8) and (-3,4) is
D=\sqrt{(5-(-3))^2+(8-4)^2}
D=\sqrt{(8)^2+(4)^2}
D=\sqrt{64+16}
D=\sqrt{80}
D=4√5 units

AB=4√5 units
