What is the slope of the line that goes through the points (-4, 5) and (6, 2)?
muminat

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Answer:  \textsf{-3/10}

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Given:  \textsf{Points (-4, 5) and (6, 2)}

Find:  \textsf{Slope of the line that goes between the points}

Solution:  In order to determine the slope of a line we need to follow the slope formula to determine it.  Just plug in the values and simplify.

<u>Plug in the values</u>

  • m = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}
  • m = \frac{2 - 5}{6 - (-4)}

<u>Simplify the expression</u>

  • m = \frac{-3}{6 + 4}
  • m = -\frac{3}{10}

Using those two points we were able to determine that the slope of the line that goes through the points is -3/10.

To take advantage of the power of compounding, what should you do with the money an investment produces?
VLD [36.1K]
You should reinvest it. Compounding means that if you put $10 in and it gives you 110% of your investment, then you’ll receive $11. If you reinvest it and it gives 110% again, you’ll have $12.10. This will continue to accrue until you stop investing. If something doesn’t compound, you’ll only get the extra $1 over and over.

The table and the graph each show a different relationship between the same two variables, x and y:
RideAnS [48]
Equation of the table is given by
y - 210 = (280 - 210)/(4 - 3) (x - 3)
y - 210 = 70(x - 3)
y - 210 = 70x - 210
y = 70x

When x = 11, y = 70(11) = 770

Equation of the graph is given by
y = 110/2 x = 55x

When x = 11, y = 55(11) = 605

Therefore the value of y in the table is grater than the value of y in the graph by 770 - 605 = 165

Pls help
BlackZzzverrR [31]

Answer:

y =  8 \:  \:  \: x =  - 10

Step-by-step explanation:

4( - 6x - 9y =  - 12) \\ 3(8x + 9y =  - 8) \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  - 24x - 36y =  - 48 \\ 24x + 27y =  - 24 \\  \\  - 9y =  - 72 \\ y = 8 \\  \\  \\  \\  \\  - 6x  -  9y=  - 12 \\  - 6x  -  72 = -  12 \\  - 6x =  - 12 + 72 \\  - 6x = 60 \\ x =  - 10
