Answer:

  • Option B, 0.0409 M

Explanation:

1) Data:

a) M = ?

b) n = 0.400 mol

V = 9.79 liters

2) Formula:

  • M = n / V (in liters)

3) Solution:

  • M = 0.400 mol / 9.79 liter = 0.04086 M

  • Since each data contain 3 significant digits, the answer must be reported with 3 significant digits. So, the correct answer is 0.0409 M, which is the option B.

If the total population of Asian women was 5000in the 2008 how many females suffered a stroke?
Finger [1]

Answer:

Hi there!

I believe you are missing an attachment to this question however

I strongly believe that the answer you are looking for is 85.

Explanation:

If you provide the graph, the rate of strokes in Asian women will be 17 per 1,000 women so all you have to do is multiply 17 by 5 and you get 85

EXPERIMENT: DETERMINING VOLUME
Tanzania [10]

Explanation:

(Ques- A) Why does the first method for determining volume work only for a regular-shaped object?

(Ans- A) Because the method requires precise dimensions of objects for result, which is not possible for irregular shaped objects.

(Ques - B) Will the second method for determining volume work for any object or just an odd-shaped one? Why?

(Ans-B) It will work for both regular and irregular shaped objects since both displace equal volumes of water.

(Ques - C) Is one method of measurement more accurate than the other? Why or why not?

(Ans-C) Both are pretty accurate, with some experimental errors which may creep in accidentally.

(Ques- D) Would the displacement method of measurement work for a cube of sugar? What about a cork? Why?

(Ans - D) No, the method would not work because sugar being soluble, will dissolve in water.

No, the method would not work because sugar being soluble, will dissolve in water. Cork is less dense than water so floats on it, with only part of it submerged in water, resulting in displacement of less volume of water than actual volume of Cork.

(Ques-E) What did you find out from this investigation? Be thoughtful in your answer.

(Ans- E) I learnt about determining volume of different objects from this investigation. (Sorry, I know its not a very thoughtful answer)

According to the following reaction, how many grams of nitrogen monoxide will be formed upon the complete reaction of 31.0 grams
Mumz [18]

23.227 grams of NO is formed upon the complete reaction of 31.0 grams of oxygen gas with excess ammonia.

Explanation:

The balanced chemical equation is:

4NH3 + 5O2 ⇒ 4NO + 6H20

Number of moles will be calculated.

31 grams of oxygen is given

atomic weight of oxygen gas i.e O2 = 32gm/mole

The molar mass of oxygen gas is 32 grams/mole which is equal to one mole of the molecule.

Number of moles (n) = \frac{mass}{atomic mass of one mole of the substance}

                             n=    \frac{31}{32}

                              n = 0.968 moles of oxygen are given for the reaction to occur.

From the balanced chemical equation it can be seen

5 moles of oxygen yielded 4 moles of NO

So, 0.968 moles of oxygen yield x moles of NO

\frac{4}{5} = \frac{x}{0.968 }

4 × 0.968 =5x

x = 0.774 moles of NO will be formed.

To calculate the mass of NO

mass= atomic mass x number of moles

atomic mass of NO is 30.01 grams/mole

putting the values in the formula:

mass = 30.01 x 0.774

          = 23.227 grams of NO is formed.

One of the products of the combustion reaction below:
Ratling [72]

Answer:

H₂O

Explanation:

Chemical equation:

C₅H₁₂ + O₂      →     CO₂ + H₂O

Balanced chemical equation:

C₅H₁₂ + 8O₂      →     5CO₂ + 6H₂O

The given reaction is combustion reaction. The balance equation shows that there are equal number of moles of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen on both side of equation thus it follows the law of conservation of mass.

Combustion reaction:

The reaction in which substance react with oxygen and produced carbon dioxide and water.

Mostly hydrocarbons burns in the presence of oxygen and form carbon dioxide and water.
