So we know there are 12 eggs and they will be distributed like this:

12=x2+y1
and 4 cups of flour:
4=1/3x+1/2y

let's see if we can find a solution in which all the materials are used:
12=x2+y1
4=1/3x+1/2y//*6

12=2x+y
24=2x+3y//*6

substract from each other:
12=2y
y=2
12=2x+y
12=2x+2
10=2x
x=5
