Answer:

The store sell 12 large candles

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the no. of small candles

Cost of 1 small candle = $10.98

Cost of x small candles = 10.98x

Let y be the no. of large candles

Cost of 1 large candle = $27.98

Cost of y large candles = 27.98y

We are given that a candle store received $423.60 for selling 20 candles.

So, x+y=20\\ 10.98x+27.98y=423.60

Plot these lines on graph

x+y=20 --- Green

10.98x+27.98y=423.60 --- Blue

Intersection point provides solution

So,Intersection point = (8,12)

So, y=12

Hence The store sell 12 large candles
