Find The slope of the line described by x+2y=8

Mathematics

Answer:

Slope = m = \frac{-1}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a line in  slope-intercept form  is.

y = mx + b   ----->(eq 1)

∴ m is slope

x+2y=8

subtract x from both sides.

x - x +2y=  - x + 8

2y=  - x + 8

divide - 2 on both sides

\frac{2y}{2} = \frac{ - x + 8}{2}

y = \frac{ - x}{2} + \frac{8}{2}

y = \frac{ - 1}{2}x + 4 ----->(eq 2)

By comparing (eq 1) and (eq 2)

m = \frac{-1}{2}

Slope = m = \frac{-1}{2}

What is the measure of ∠PQR ? <br><br> Enter your answer in the box. °
xxTIMURxx [149]
The 3 inside angles of a triangle need to = 180 degrees
 you are given 70 and 80 which = 150 degrees  ( 70 +80 = 150)

so the missing angle (PQR) = 180 - 150 = 30 degrees

Kanu and Ikedi shared 270 in such a way that 2/5 of Ikedi's share is equal to 1/2 of kanu's. Find their shares.
Leviafan [203]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We'll solve this with a system of equations. The first equation says that K's shares plus I's shares total 270; therefore,

K + I = 270

The second equation talks about the ratios of their shares.

2/5 I = 1/2 K We'll solve for K by multiplying both sides by 2:

4/5 I = K Now we'll sub that in for K to the first equation:

\frac{4}{5}I+I=270 and

\frac{4}{5}I+\frac{5}{5}I=270 and

\frac{9}{5}I=270 Now we'll solve for I, the number of shares that Ikedi has. Multiply both sides by 5 to get

9I=1350  then divide both sides by 9 to get

I=150

Ikedi has 150 shares. Sub that back into the first equation to solve for K:

K + 150 = 270 so

K = 120

Which of the coordinates listed below could represent a point found on the line 3x?
Kamila [148]
Well.. You seem to have forgotten to add the coordinates...

Anyway, the line is represented by the function f(x) = 3x .

Any point which follows the form (x,3x) will be on the line

for example (-3,-9) ; (-2,-6) ; (-1,-3) ; (0,0) ; (0.333333,1) ; (1, 3) ; (2,6) ; (3,9) ; and so on....
