It is possible but there should be some type of criteria that needs to be met. For example, the market should have room for both products and the other important thing to have in mind is that the company must have sufficient resources in order to produce both products simultaneously.

Assume the following economic indicators: interest rates on loans are historically low, gasoline prices are low, unemployment ra
DIA [1.3K]

Answer:

Te answer is: The demand for new cars will rise, so the demand for auto loans will also rise, increasing the labor demand in companies that offer auto loans.

Explanation:

When the price of a good or service decreases, the quantity demanded for that good or service will increase.

Interest rates can be considered as the price of a loan, so when interest rates fall, the quantity demanded for loans will increase. This factor plus an increase in car sales, low gasoline prices and low unemployment are the perfect conditions for the auto loan industry to flourish.

When any industry is expected to do so well, their demand for labor is also expected to increase.

T/F: If Harold runs a grocery store and is making a normal rate of return, we can infer that he is also making an economic profi
Misha Larkins [42]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

It does not necessarily means that when a firm gets a normal rate of return, it earns economic profit also, as it depends on various factors:

  • In the short run every firm aims to recover its variable cost, and in it's long term duration to recover its total cost, but it does not necessarily conclude that the return will attain the level of earning economic profit.
  • Normal rate of return is based on competitive market, as an average rate of return on market, but if the investment is made from borrowed funds, it might be that the company is not able to pay the cost of borrowing in that case it is even after attaining the normal rate of return it will not earn economic profit.

Carter Company reported the following financial numbers for one of its divisions for the year; average total assets of $4,110,00
Ksivusya [100]

Answer:

$1,83,000

Explanation:

Sales = 4,535,000

Cost of goods sold = $2,560,000

Operating expenses  =  $1,382,000

Average total assets = $4,110,000

Net Income =  Sales - Cost of goods sold -  Operating expenses

= $4,535,000 - $2,560,000 -  $1,382,000

=  $5,93,000

Target income = 10%  of Average total assets

= 0.10 × $4,110,000

= $410,000

Thus,

Residual income = Net income - Target income

= $5,93,000 - $410,000

= $1,83,000
