There is 7 5/9 wood and people took 3 2/15 pieces. How many more pieces are there
GalinKa [24]
What you have to do is subtract 3 2/15 from 7 5/9. You can also use decimals but that doesn't work all the time since the are infinite numbers (you will see what I mean later on) So what you can do is find the improper fraction of each one, and subtract it from each other. It would be 68/9 - 47/15, which would give you a total of 4 19/45. YOU'RE WELCOME :)

Please help! Here's the question. I really need it.
Korvikt [17]
Let’s first cut/separate this figure into two shapes: rectangle and a triangle

The area of the rectangle: 9 • 2 = 18
The area of the triangle: 1/2 • 8 • 4 = 16
The total area: 18 + 16 = 34

What is the probability of not rolling a number larger than 4 with a fair die?
Fiesta28 [93]
Find the probability of rolling a number bigger than 4 and subtract that by 100%;

P(5)= 1/6 <-- 6 possible outcomes, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6
P(6)= 1/6

You could have rolled a 5 or 6. When the word or is used, the probabilities are added together, when and is used, they are multiplied.

(1/6)+(1/6)=2/6

1-P(5)+P(6)
=1-(2/6)
=(6/6)-(2/6)
=4/6

Therefore the probability of not rolling a number larger than 4 is 4/6 or 2/3.

Hope I helped :)
