x/.75=x-56/0.4

0.4x=.75x-42

-0.35x=-42

x=120

I set up a proportion in which x=the tank when it is 3/4 full. When the tank is 3/4 full, solving the proportion tells us the x=120 litres. 120/3=40, and 120+40 is 160, showing that a tank completely full would indeed hold 160 litres.

Hope this helps!

yaroslaw [1]

Answer:

$23.75

Step-by-step explanation:

Ok, first, To solve the problem, we need the amount of square feet of each kite.

To calculate area of triangles, you multiply base with height, then divide by two. (bh/2)

Jake's kite is 5.5 feet long, and 6 feet tall, so we plug this into the equation to get: (5.5 · 6)/2

we simplify to get 33/2 = 16.5 square feet.

Then to get the total cost, we multiply 16.5 with 2.50 to get $41.25, which is the cost of Jake's kite.

Now, we do the same with Rob's kite. (3.5*4)/2 = 14/2 = 7, then multiply by 2.5 to get 7 * 2.5 = $17.5, and that's the cost of Rob's kite.

To get the final answer, we subtract 41.25 to 17.5, which is $23.75

write a real-world problem situation that could be modeled by the equation. Then solve for the unknown in the situation. 60+25x=
Zarrin [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation: 0+25x=35x+20

We simplify the equation to the form, which is simple to understand

60+25x=35x+20

We move all terms containing x to the left and all other terms to the right.

+25x-35x=+20-60

We simplify left and right side of the equation.

-10x=-40

We divide both sides of the equation by -10 to get x.

x=4
