Check out the attached image below. I've marked two red points on the line such that the points have whole number coordinates. This way I could compute the slope of this line to be -2/5

We move down 2 units (rise of -2) as shown by the blue arrows. Afterward, we move 5 units to the right as shown by the green arrows (which is the run). This gets us from the left red point to the right red point.

rise = -2, run = 5

slope = rise/run = -2/5

the original line shown has a slope of -2/5

----------------------------

Next we do two things to get the perpendicular slope.

Flip the fraction: -2/5 becomes -5/2

Flip the sign: -5/2 becomes +5/2 or simply 5/2

----------------------------

Final Answer: 5/2

Which one is a polynomial?
√x-6
OR
x-√6
Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

 x-√6

Step-by-step explanation:

Non-integer powers of the variable disqualifies the expression from being a polynomial. √x -6 has x to the 1/2 power, so that expression is not a polynomial. Polynomials may have any real or complex, rational or irrational coefficients. (We usually study only polynomials with real coefficients.)

 x-√6 is a polynomial

PLEASE HURRY
Fynjy0 [20]

Answer:

t=18 years

Step-by-step explanation:

A year has two semesters, then

n = 2v(t)=p(1+r/2)2t

3875.79 = 1900∗(1+(0.04/2))^2t

2.0398895 = (1+0.042)^2t

Apply natural logarithm on both sides

ln(2.0398895) = ln[(1+0.042)^2t]

Then simplify,

0.712896 = 2t∗ln(1.02)

t = 0.712896 / (2∗ln(1.02))

t=18 years

1.
f(x) = x
g(x) = x + 3

For each x value you use in f(x) and g(x), the corresponding y value in g(x) is always 3 more than in f(x). If each y-coordinate is 3 more, that means the graph is shifted 3 units up. The graph of f(x) is shifted 3 units up to create the graph of g(x).

2.
The first term is -0.5.
Then each term goes up by 0.25.

1st term: -0.5
2nd term: -0.5 + 0.25 = -0.5 + 0.25(1)
3rd term: -0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 = -0.5 + 0.25(2)
4th term: -0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = -0.5 + 0.25(3)
nth term: -0.5 + 0.25(n - 1)

-0.5 + 0.25(n - 1) = -0.5 + 0.25n - 0.25 = -0.75 + 0.25n = 0.25n - 0.75
