Answer:

Yadira's mom can purchase 36 hot dogs.

Step-by-step explanation:

After you read the question, you can figure out that we need to find the LCM (least common multiple).  To do this, we are going to find the first 5 multiples of 12 and 9.

The first five multiples of 12 are 12, 24, 36, 48, 60.

The first five multiples of 9 are 9, 18, 27, 36, 45.

Now we need to find the least common multiple. So let's find the number that is in both. The number is 36. The answer is 36.

Ah hah !  People on Brainly are always asking us where they can
use this stuff in real life.  HERE is a perfect example of where
you can use Least Common Multiple in real life . . . when you're
buying hot dogs and buns !

When they come in packs, with different numbers in each pack
but you want to wind up with the same number of each item,
the number of each item that you should buy is the LCM of
the numbers in each pack.

Yadira's mom absolutely aced her math in Middle School, so she
knows right away that the LCM of  9  and  12  is  36 .  This tells her
that she should buy  36 hot dogs (3 packs) and 36 buns (4 packs).

REY [17]

Answer:

Both will be at the same page after 6.5 days and the page number will be 180.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let after x days Nora and Lila will be at the same page.

Nora is on page 128 and plans to read 8 pages per day until the next club meeting.

After x days Nora will be at the page number = 128 + 8x

Similarly, Lila is on page 102 and she reads 12 pages per day.

After x days Lila will be on page number = 102 + 12x

Since after x days they will be at the same page

Therefore, 128 + 8x = 102 + 12x

12x - 8x = 128 - 102

4x = 26

x = \frac{26}{4}

x = 6.5 days

Page number they will be on = 128 + 8(6.5)

= 128 + 52

= 180

Both will be at the same page after 6.5 days and the page number will be 180.
