Answer:

Break Even Point

In Units = 2,000 units

In value = $80,000

Explanation:

Break even Point = \frac{Fixed\ Cost}{Contribution}

When we use contribution per unit, we get the break even point in units sales.

When we use the contribution margin as a percentage of sales we get break even sales in value.

Contribution per unit = $20

Contribution margin in percentage = $20/$40 = 50%

Therefore, Break even Point in units = \frac{40,000}{20} = 2,000

Break even units = 2,000

Break Even Point in value = \frac{40,000}{0.50} = 80,000

Sales to be made in value at break even = $80,000

Pleasant Hills Properties is developing a golf course subdivision that includes 225 home lots; 100 lots are golf course lots and
Solnce55 [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

This is a question about allocation based on how much the street frontage will be valued in future. That value will then be allocated to the joint cost to see how much to apportion to Street Frontage now.

The total value of the Street Frontage after development is,

= 125 lots * $70,000

= $8,750,000

The total value of Golf lots are,

= 100 lots * $100,000

= $10,000,000

Adding them up,

= 10,000,000 + 8,750,000

= $18,750,000

This is the total amount of the company could make and therefore the lot's value.

Company incurred the following costs.

= 1,850,000 * 1,450,000

= $3,300,000

The amount of joint costs to be allocated to Street Frontage will be,

= 8,750,000/ 18,750,000 * 3,300,000

= $1,540,000

The amount to allocate to Street Frontage based on the total value of the lot is $1,540,000.

Sholpan [36]

Answer:

C) Condensing the firm's cash inflows into fewer years without lowering the total amount of those inflows.

Explanation:

When you determine the net present value of project, the longer the project, the lower the present value of its cash flows. A way to try to increase the NPV of a project is to try to shorten its life span without reducing the value of its cash flows.

This sounds much simpler than it is. Since your project should produce cash flows in a shorter time, you will have to probably shorten the time periods of some activities, e.g. building new facilities, research and development, etc.
