Answer: the radius of the satellite's orbit  is  r = 8.78×10⁷m

Explanation:

given the time period, T= 3days

converting the time in days to seconds is given as;

time, T=(3*24*60*60) sec

T=259200 sec

from the force relation;

mv²/r = Gm×M/r²

v²=G×M/r ---------------(1)

and

V=2pi×r/T

V²=4×pi²×r²/T²

====>

from equation  (1) , we have

4×pi²×r²/T²=G×M/r

this becomes;  4×pi²×r³/T² = G×M

r³ = G×M×T²/(4pi²)

r³ = 6.67×10⁻¹¹×(5.97×10²⁴)×(259200)²/(4pi²)

==> r=8.78×10⁷m

radius of the orbit, r=8.78×10⁷ m

High-speed stroboscopic photographs show that the head of a 180 g golf club is traveling at 47 m/s just before it strikes a 46 g
inn [45]

Answer:

47 m/s

Explanation:

golf club mass, mc = 180 g

golf ball mass, mb = 46 g

initial golf club speed, vc1 = 47 m/s

final golf club speed, vc2 = 35 m/s

initial golf ball speed, vb1 = 0 m/s

final golf ball speed, vb2 = ? m/s

The total momentum is conserved, then:

mc*vc1 + mb*vb1 = mc*vc2 + mb*vb2

Replacing with data and solving (dimension are omitted):

180*47 + 46*0 = 180*35 + 46*vb2

vb2 = (180*47 - 180*35)/46

vb2 = 47 m/s

Can an object contain heat? Why or why not?
Stells [14]
Every object has thermal energy (better word than heat, since we associate that with high temperatures). This is actually the molecules vibrating, moving a lot. More thermal energy means more vibrating, and thus also expanding in volume.

A sled is slowing down at the bottom of a snowy hill.
Kitty [74]

Answer:

A sled and its rider are moving at a speed of along a horizontal stretch of snow, as Figure 4.24a illustrates. The snow exerts a kinetic frictional force on the runners of the sled, so the sled slows down and eventually comes to a stop. The coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.050. What is the displacement x of the sled?
