Answer:

7h+5n=E

or

42+5n=E

Step-by-step explanation:

First write an equation : note key words like "per", "each" and "total".

7 per hour

5 each

6 hours

n= number of people

E= total earnings

total earnings

So:

7h+5n=E

$7 per hour plus $5 tips per person equals total earnings

7(6)+5n=E\\42+5n=E\\

Which price is cheaper? 20% off the original price of $29.99 or 10% off the original price of $26 for a book?
Archy [21]
20% off means that now it costs 80% of original price
80% = 0.8
costs 80% of (means here times (*))original price
29.99*0.8≈23.99

10% off means that now it costs 90% of original price
90%=0.9
costs 90% of (means here times (*))original price
26*0.9=23.40
23.99>23.40,
so is

The waiting times on hold for a call to a customer service department are observed to have the following probability distributio
Elina [12.6K]

Answer:

b. 9.2 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the expected waiting time for a random call from the sampie given by using the formula:

\sum (f(X)) = \dfrac{\sum f (x) \times x}{\sum x}

number of calls (x)           waiting time f(x) in minutes         f(x) *(x)

0                                                     0                                         0

2                                                     3                                         6

4                                                     10                                       40

6                                                     15                                       90

8                                                     10                                       80

10                                                     6                                       60

\sum x = 30                                                                          \sum f(x) *x = 276

Therefore:

\sum (f(X)) = \dfrac{276}{30}

\sum (f(X)) = 9.2

F(x) = y = -1/3x + 0
g(x) = y= -1/3x - 3

I don’t think that you have to include the y in the equations. It really depends on what your teacher wants. ;)

Hope this helps✨❤️
